Catalog: CNVFP-SMC3-18874
Classification: Copy Number Variation
Description: Our Gene-specific Copy Number Variation Probes usually target the flanks of the target gene (SMC3). The product usually consists of a combination of reagents, which consists of a probe with a selected dye color and a hybridization reagent. We provide CNV FISH Probes with a variety of dye color combinations to meet various challenges. Probe products not only provide some classic color combinations but also provide customized probe services.
Application: SMC3 Gene-specific copy number variation probes are mainly used to detect the copy number variation related to SMC3 genes. This product achieves the purpose of detection by hybridizing with the SMC3 gene. Due to this design method, our probe products can detect the amplification and deletion of target genes on chromosomes through FISH.

Gene Details

Gene Name Structural Maintenance Of Chromosomes 3
Gene Summary [Provided by RefSeq] This gene belongs to the SMC3 subfamily of SMC proteins. The encoded protein occurs in certain cell types as either an intracellular, nuclear protein or a secreted protein. The nuclear form, known as structural maintenance of chromosomes 3, is a component of the multimeric cohesin complex that holds together sister chromatids during mitosis, enabling proper chromosome segregation. Post-translational modification of the encoded protein by the addition of chondroitin sulfate chains gives rise to the secreted proteoglycan bamacan, an abundant basement membrane protein. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Symbol SMC3
Location 10q25.2
Chromosome Chromosome10
Coordinates This gene maps to 112327448-112364392 in GRCh37 coordinates.
Species Human
