Catalog: CNVFP-RPGR-17534
Classification: Copy Number Variation
Description: Our Gene-specific Copy Number Variation Probes usually target the flanks of the target gene (RPGR). The product usually consists of a combination of reagents, which consists of a probe with a selected dye color and a hybridization reagent. We provide CNV FISH Probes with a variety of dye color combinations to meet various challenges. Probe products not only provide some classic color combinations but also provide customized probe services.
Application: RPGR Gene-specific copy number variation probes are mainly used to detect the copy number variation related to RPGR genes. This product achieves the purpose of detection by hybridizing with the RPGR gene. Due to this design method, our probe products can detect the amplification and deletion of target genes on chromosomes through FISH.

Gene Details

Gene Name Retinitis Pigmentosa GTPase Regulator
Gene Summary [Provided by RefSeq] This gene encodes a protein with a series of six RCC1-like domains (RLDs), characteristic of the highly conserved guanine nucleotide exchange factors. The encoded protein is found in the Golgi body and interacts with RPGRIP1. This protein localizes to the outer segment of rod photoreceptors and is essential for their viability. Mutations in this gene have been associated with X-linked retinitis pigmentosa (XLRP). Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different isoforms of this gene have been reported, but the full-length natures of only some have been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2008]
Gene Symbol RPGR
Location Xp11.4
Chromosome ChromosomeX
Coordinates This gene maps to 38128422-38186788 in GRCh37 coordinates.
Species Human
