Catalog: CNVFP-PRDM8-16375
Classification: Copy Number Variation
Description: Our Gene-specific Copy Number Variation Probes usually target the flanks of the target gene (PRDM8). The product usually consists of a combination of reagents, which consists of a probe with a selected dye color and a hybridization reagent. We provide CNV FISH Probes with a variety of dye color combinations to meet various challenges. Probe products not only provide some classic color combinations but also provide customized probe services.
Application: PRDM8 Gene-specific copy number variation probes are mainly used to detect the copy number variation related to PRDM8 genes. This product achieves the purpose of detection by hybridizing with the PRDM8 gene. Due to this design method, our probe products can detect the amplification and deletion of target genes on chromosomes through FISH.

Gene Details

Gene Name PR/SET Domain 8
Gene Summary [Provided by RefSeq] This gene encodes a protein that belongs to a conserved family of histone methyltransferases that predominantly act as negative regulators of transcription. The encoded protein contains an N-terminal Su(var)3-9, Enhancer-of-zeste, and Trithorax (SET) domain and a double zinc-finger domain. Knockout of this gene in mouse results in mistargeting by neurons of the dorsal telencephalon, abnormal itch-like behavior, and impaired differentiation of rod bipolar cells. In humans, the protein has been shown to interact with the phosphatase laforin and the ubiquitin ligase malin, which regulate glycogen construction in the cytoplasm. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2016]
Gene Symbol PRDM8
Location 4q21.21
Chromosome Chromosome4
Coordinates This gene maps to 81106423-81125482 in GRCh37 coordinates.
Species Human
