Catalog: CNVFP-PIGC-15855
Classification: Copy Number Variation
Description: Our Gene-specific Copy Number Variation Probes usually target the flanks of the target gene (PIGC). The product usually consists of a combination of reagents, which consists of a probe with a selected dye color and a hybridization reagent. We provide CNV FISH Probes with a variety of dye color combinations to meet various challenges. Probe products not only provide some classic color combinations but also provide customized probe services.
Application: PIGC Gene-specific copy number variation probes are mainly used to detect the copy number variation related to PIGC genes. This product achieves the purpose of detection by hybridizing with the PIGC gene. Due to this design method, our probe products can detect the amplification and deletion of target genes on chromosomes through FISH.

Gene Details

Gene Name Phosphatidylinositol Glycan Anchor Biosynthesis Class C
Gene Summary [Provided by RefSeq] This gene encodes an endoplasmic reticulum associated protein that is involved in glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) lipid anchor biosynthesis. The GPI lipid anchor is a glycolipid found on many blood cells and serves to anchor proteins to the cell surface. The encoded protein is one subunit of the GPI N-acetylglucosaminyl (GlcNAc) transferase that transfers GlcNAc to phosphatidylinositol (PI) on the cytoplasmic side of the endoplasmic reticulum. Two alternatively spliced transcripts that encode the same protein have been found for this gene. A pseudogene on chromosome 11 has also been characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Symbol PIGC
Location 1q24.3
Chromosome Chromosome1
Coordinates This gene maps to 172410596-172413230 in GRCh37 coordinates.
Species Human
