Catalog: CNVFP-MGP-11189
Classification: Copy Number Variation
Description: Our Gene-specific Copy Number Variation Probes usually target the flanks of the target gene (MGP). The product usually consists of a combination of reagents, which consists of a probe with a selected dye color and a hybridization reagent. We provide CNV FISH Probes with a variety of dye color combinations to meet various challenges. Probe products not only provide some classic color combinations but also provide customized probe services.
Application: MGP Gene-specific copy number variation probes are mainly used to detect the copy number variation related to MGP genes. This product achieves the purpose of detection by hybridizing with the MGP gene. Due to this design method, our probe products can detect the amplification and deletion of target genes on chromosomes through FISH.

Gene Details

Gene Name Matrix Gla Protein
Gene Summary [Provided by RefSeq] This gene encodes a member of the osteocalcin/matrix Gla family of proteins. The encoded vitamin K-dependent protein is secreted by chondrocytes and vascular smooth muscle cells, and functions as a physiological inhibitor of ectopic tissue calcification. Carboxylation status of the encoded protein is associated with calcification of the vasculature in human patients with cardiovascular disease and calcification of the synovial membranes in osteoarthritis patients. Mutations in this gene cause Keutel syndrome in human patients, which is characterized by abnormal cartilage calcification, peripheral pulmonary stenosis and facial hypoplasia. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2016]
Gene Symbol MGP
Location 12p12.3
Chromosome Chromosome12
Coordinates This gene maps to 15034114-15038853 in GRCh37 coordinates.
Species Human
