| Catalog: | CNVFP-DUT-04274 |
| Classification: | Copy Number Variation |
| Description: | Our Gene-specific Copy Number Variation Probes usually target the flanks of the target gene (DUT). The product usually consists of a combination of reagents, which consists of a probe with a selected dye color and a hybridization reagent. We provide CNV FISH Probes with a variety of dye color combinations to meet various challenges. Probe products not only provide some classic color combinations but also provide customized probe services. |
| Application: | DUT Gene-specific copy number variation probes are mainly used to detect the copy number variation related to DUT genes. This product achieves the purpose of detection by hybridizing with the DUT gene. Due to this design method, our probe products can detect the amplification and deletion of target genes on chromosomes through FISH. |

| Gene Summary [Provided by RefSeq] | This gene encodes an essential enzyme of nucleotide metabolism. The encoded protein forms a ubiquitous, homotetrameric enzyme that hydrolyzes dUTP to dUMP and pyrophosphate. This reaction serves two cellular purposes: providing a precursor (dUMP) for the synthesis of thymine nucleotides needed for DNA replication, and limiting intracellular pools of dUTP. Elevated levels of dUTP lead to increased incorporation of uracil into DNA, which induces extensive excision repair mediated by uracil glycosylase. This repair process, resulting in the removal and reincorporation of dUTP, is self-defeating and leads to DNA fragmentation and cell death. Alternative splicing of this gene leads to different isoforms that localize to either the mitochondrion or nucleus. A related pseudogene is located on chromosome 19. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] |
