Catalog: CNVFP-CHRNA4-02833
Classification: Copy Number Variation
Description: Our Gene-specific Copy Number Variation Probes usually target the flanks of the target gene (CHRNA4). The product usually consists of a combination of reagents, which consists of a probe with a selected dye color and a hybridization reagent. We provide CNV FISH Probes with a variety of dye color combinations to meet various challenges. Probe products not only provide some classic color combinations but also provide customized probe services.
Application: CHRNA4 Gene-specific copy number variation probes are mainly used to detect the copy number variation related to CHRNA4 genes. This product achieves the purpose of detection by hybridizing with the CHRNA4 gene. Due to this design method, our probe products can detect the amplification and deletion of target genes on chromosomes through FISH.

Gene Details

Gene Name Cholinergic Receptor Nicotinic Alpha 4 Subunit
Gene Summary [Provided by RefSeq] This gene encodes a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor, which belongs to a superfamily of ligand-gated ion channels that play a role in fast signal transmission at synapses. These pentameric receptors can bind acetylcholine, which causes an extensive change in conformation that leads to the opening of an ion-conducting channel across the plasma membrane. This protein is an integral membrane receptor subunit that can interact with either nAChR beta-2 or nAChR beta-4 to form a functional receptor. Mutations in this gene cause nocturnal frontal lobe epilepsy type 1. Polymorphisms in this gene that provide protection against nicotine addiction have been described. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2012]
Gene Symbol CHRNA4
Location 20q13.33
Chromosome Chromosome20
Coordinates This gene maps to 61974664-61992695 in GRCh37 coordinates.
