Catalog: CNVFP-CENPE-02480
Classification: Copy Number Variation
Description: Our Gene-specific Copy Number Variation Probes usually target the flanks of the target gene (CENPE). The product usually consists of a combination of reagents, which consists of a probe with a selected dye color and a hybridization reagent. We provide CNV FISH Probes with a variety of dye color combinations to meet various challenges. Probe products not only provide some classic color combinations but also provide customized probe services.
Application: CENPE Gene-specific copy number variation probes are mainly used to detect the copy number variation related to CENPE genes. This product achieves the purpose of detection by hybridizing with the CENPE gene. Due to this design method, our probe products can detect the amplification and deletion of target genes on chromosomes through FISH.

Gene Details

Gene Name Centromere Protein E
Gene Summary [Provided by RefSeq] Centrosome-associated protein E (CENPE) is a kinesin-like motor protein that accumulates in the G2 phase of the cell cycle. Unlike other centrosome-associated proteins, it is not present during interphase and first appears at the centromere region of chromosomes during prometaphase. This protein is required for stable spindle microtubule capture at kinetochores which is a necessary step in chromosome alignment during prometaphase. This protein also couples chromosome position to microtubule depolymerizing activity. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct protein isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2014]
Gene Symbol CENPE
Location 4q24
Chromosome Chromosome4
Coordinates This gene maps to 104026962-104119566 in GRCh37 coordinates.
Species Human
