Catalog: CNVFP-CARS2-01985
Classification: Copy Number Variation
Description: Our Gene-specific Copy Number Variation Probes usually target the flanks of the target gene (CARS2). The product usually consists of a combination of reagents, which consists of a probe with a selected dye color and a hybridization reagent. We provide CNV FISH Probes with a variety of dye color combinations to meet various challenges. Probe products not only provide some classic color combinations but also provide customized probe services.
Application: CARS2 Gene-specific copy number variation probes are mainly used to detect the copy number variation related to CARS2 genes. This product achieves the purpose of detection by hybridizing with the CARS2 gene. Due to this design method, our probe products can detect the amplification and deletion of target genes on chromosomes through FISH.

Gene Details

Gene Name Cysteinyl-tRNA Synthetase 2, Mitochondrial
Gene Summary [Provided by RefSeq] This gene encodes a putative member of the class I family of aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases. These enzymes play a critical role in protein biosynthesis by charging tRNAs with their cognate amino acids. This protein is encoded by the nuclear genome but is likely to be imported to the mitochondrion where it is thought to catalyze the ligation of cysteine to tRNA molecules. A splice-site mutation in this gene has been associated with a novel progressive myoclonic epilepsy disease with similar symptoms to MERRF syndrome. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2017]
Gene Symbol CARS2
Location 13q34
Chromosome Chromosome13
Coordinates This gene maps to 111293756-111358480 in GRCh37 coordinates.
Species Human
