Catalog: CNVFP-ADH7-00302
Classification: Copy Number Variation
Description: Our Gene-specific Copy Number Variation Probes usually target the flanks of the target gene (ADH7). The product usually consists of a combination of reagents, which consists of a probe with a selected dye color and a hybridization reagent. We provide CNV FISH Probes with a variety of dye color combinations to meet various challenges. Probe products not only provide some classic color combinations but also provide customized probe services.
Application: ADH7 Gene-specific copy number variation probes are mainly used to detect the copy number variation related to ADH7 genes. This product achieves the purpose of detection by hybridizing with the ADH7 gene. Due to this design method, our probe products can detect the amplification and deletion of target genes on chromosomes through FISH.

Gene Details

Gene Name Alcohol Dehydrogenase 7 (class IV), Mu Or Sigma Polypeptide
Gene Summary [Provided by RefSeq] This gene encodes class IV alcohol dehydrogenase 7 mu or sigma subunit, which is a member of the alcohol dehydrogenase family. Members of this family metabolize a wide variety of substrates, including ethanol, retinol, other aliphatic alcohols, hydroxysteroids, and lipid peroxidation products. The enzyme encoded by this gene is inefficient in ethanol oxidation, but is the most active as a retinol dehydrogenase; thus it may participate in the synthesis of retinoic acid, a hormone important for cellular differentiation. The expression of this gene is much more abundant in stomach than liver, thus differing from the other known gene family members. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]
Gene Symbol ADH7
Location 4q23
Chromosome Chromosome4
Coordinates This gene maps to 100333417-100356667 in GRCh37 coordinates.
Species Human
