| Catalog: | GBAFP-TEK-17985 |
| Classification: | Gene-specific Break Apart Probes |
| Description: | Our Gene-specific Break Apart Probes usually target the flanks of the target gene (TEK). Due to this design method, our probe products can detect chromosomal rearrangements, such as translocations, by FISH.The product usually consists of a reagent combination composed of a probe with a selected dye color and a hybridization reagent. |
| Application: | TEK Gene-specific Break Apart Probe is designed to detect potential TEK rearrangements. This probe has been confirmed on the metaphase and interphase chromosomes by FISH. We provide a variety of dye color combinations for Break Apart Probes for customers to choose from. Probe products not only provide some classic color combinations, but also provide customized probe services. |

| Gene Name | TEK Receptor Tyrosine Kinase |
| Gene Summary [Provided by RefSeq] | This gene encodes a receptor that belongs to the protein tyrosine kinase Tie2 family. The encoded protein possesses a unique extracellular region that contains two immunoglobulin-like domains, three epidermal growth factor (EGF)-like domains and three fibronectin type III repeats. The ligand angiopoietin-1 binds to this receptor and mediates a signaling pathway that functions in embryonic vascular development. Mutations in this gene are associated with inherited venous malformations of the skin and mucous membranes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Additional alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been described, but their full-length nature is not known. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2014] |
