| Catalog: | GBAFP-TECPR2-17969 |
| Classification: | Gene-specific Break Apart Probes |
| Description: | Our Gene-specific Break Apart Probes usually target the flanks of the target gene (TECPR2). Due to this design method, our probe products can detect chromosomal rearrangements, such as translocations, by FISH.The product usually consists of a reagent combination composed of a probe with a selected dye color and a hybridization reagent. |
| Application: | TECPR2 Gene-specific Break Apart Probe is designed to detect potential TECPR2 rearrangements. This probe has been confirmed on the metaphase and interphase chromosomes by FISH. We provide a variety of dye color combinations for Break Apart Probes for customers to choose from. Probe products not only provide some classic color combinations, but also provide customized probe services. |

| Gene Name | Tectonin Beta-propeller Repeat Containing 2 |
| Gene Summary [Provided by RefSeq] | The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the tectonin beta-propeller repeat-containing (TECPR) family, and contains both TECPR and tryptophan-aspartic acid repeat (WD repeat) domains. This gene has been implicated in autophagy, as reduced expression levels of this gene have been associated with impaired autophagy. Recessive mutations in this gene have been associated with a hereditary form of spastic paraparesis (HSP). HSP is characterized by progressive spasticity and paralysis of the legs. There is also some evidence linking mutations in this gene with birdshot chorioretinopathy (BSCR), which results in inflammation of the choroid and retina. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2015] |
