Gene-specific Break Apart Probe-ST6GALNAC4

Add to Cart
Catalog: GBAFP-ST6GALNAC4-08036
Classification: Gene-specific Break Apart Probes
Description: Our Gene-specific Break Apart Probes usually target the flanks of the target gene (ST6GALNAC4). Due to this design method, our probe products can detect chromosomal rearrangements, such as translocations, by FISH.The product usually consists of a reagent combination composed of a probe with a selected dye color and a hybridization reagent.
Application: ST6GALNAC4 Gene-specific Break Apart Probe is designed to detect potential ST6GALNAC4 rearrangements. This probe has been confirmed on the metaphase and interphase chromosomes by FISH. We provide a variety of dye color combinations for Break Apart Probes for customers to choose from. Probe products not only provide some classic color combinations, but also provide customized probe services.

Gene Details

Gene Name ST6 N-acetylgalactosaminide Alpha-2,6-sialyltransferase 4
Gene Summary [Provided by RefSeq] The protein encoded by this gene is a type II membrane protein that catalyzes the transfer of sialic acid from CMP-sialic acid to galactose-containing substrates. The encoded protein prefers glycoproteins rather than glycolipids as substrates and shows restricted substrate specificity, utilizing only the trisaccharide sequence Neu5Ac-alpha-2,3-Gal-beta-1,3-GalNAc. In addition, it is involved in the synthesis of ganglioside GD1A from GM1B. The encoded protein is normally found in the Golgi apparatus but can be proteolytically processed to a soluble form. This protein is a member of glycosyltransferase family 29. Transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Gene Symbol ST6GALNAC4
Location 9q34.11
Chromosome Chromosome9
Coordinates This gene maps to 130670164-130679305 in GRCh37 coordinates.
Species Human
