| Catalog: | GBAFP-MUC12-14811 |
| Classification: | Gene-specific Break Apart Probes |
| Description: | Our Gene-specific Break Apart Probes usually target the flanks of the target gene (MUC12). Due to this design method, our probe products can detect chromosomal rearrangements, such as translocations, by FISH.The product usually consists of a reagent combination composed of a probe with a selected dye color and a hybridization reagent. |
| Application: | MUC12 Gene-specific Break Apart Probe is designed to detect potential MUC12 rearrangements. This probe has been confirmed on the metaphase and interphase chromosomes by FISH. We provide a variety of dye color combinations for Break Apart Probes for customers to choose from. Probe products not only provide some classic color combinations, but also provide customized probe services. |

| Gene Name | Mucin 12, Cell Surface Associated |
| Gene Summary [Provided by RefSeq] | This gene encodes an integral membrane glycoprotein that is a member of the mucin family. Mucins are O-glycosylated proteins that play an essential role in forming protective mucous barriers on epithelial surfaces and have been implicated in epithelial renewal and differentiation. These glycoproteins also play a role in intracellular signaling. This protein is expressed on the apical membrane surface of epithelial cells that line the mucosal surfaces of many different tissues including the colon, pancreas, prostate, and uterus. The expression of this gene is downregulated in colorectal cancer tissue. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2017] |
