Classification: |
Gene Fusion FISH Probes |
Description: |
The WIPF2-XYLT2 Gene Fusion FISH Probecan detect the fusion of WIPF2 and XYLT2 genes. Our product usually consists of a combination of reagents, which consists of a probe with a selected dye color and a hybridization reagent. We offer a variety of dye color combinations for FISH probes for gene fusions. This product has been verified in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads of normal peripheral blood. This is key quality control, you can trust our quality. |

Gene Details
Gene Name 1 |
Xylosyltransferase 2 |
Gene Summary 1 |
The protein encoded by this gene is an isoform of xylosyltransferase, which belongs to a family of glycosyltransferases. This enzyme transfers xylose from UDP-xylose to specific serine residues of the core protein and initiates the biosynthesis of glycosaminoglycan chains in proteoglycans including chondroitin sulfate, heparan sulfate, heparin and dermatan sulfate. The enzyme activity, which is increased in scleroderma patients, is a diagnostic marker for the determination of sclerotic activity in systemic sclerosis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2013] |

Coordinates 1 |
This gene maps to 48423392-48438512 in GRCh37 coordinates. |
Gene Name 2 |
WAS/WASL Interacting Protein Family Member 2 |
Gene Summary 2 |
This gene encodes a WASP interacting protein (WIP)-related protein. It has been shown that this protein has a role in the WASP-mediated organization of the actin cytoskeleton and that this protein is a potential link between the activated platelet-derived growth factor receptor and the actin polymerization machinery.
