Classification: |
Gene Fusion FISH Probes |
Description: |
The VLDLR-SLC1A1 Gene Fusion FISH Probecan detect the fusion of VLDLR and SLC1A1 genes. Our product usually consists of a combination of reagents, which consists of a probe with a selected dye color and a hybridization reagent. We offer a variety of dye color combinations for FISH probes for gene fusions. This product has been verified in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads of normal peripheral blood. This is key quality control, you can trust our quality. |

Gene Details
Gene Name 1 |
Solute Carrier Family 1 Member 1 |
Gene Summary 1 |
This gene encodes a member of the high-affinity glutamate transporters that play an essential role in transporting glutamate across plasma membranes. In brain, these transporters are crucial in terminating the postsynaptic action of the neurotransmitter glutamate, and in maintaining extracellular glutamate concentrations below neurotoxic levels. This transporter also transports aspartate, and mutations in this gene are thought to cause dicarboxylicamino aciduria, also known as glutamate-aspartate transport defect. Chromosome 1 |
Chromosome 9 |
Locus 1 |
9p24.2 |
Coordinates 1 |
This gene maps to 4490426-4587469 in GRCh37 coordinates. |
Gene Name 2 |
Very Low Density Lipoprotein Receptor |
Gene Summary 2 |
The low density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) gene family consists of cell surface proteins involved in receptor-mediated endocytosis of specific ligands. This gene encodes a lipoprotein receptor that is a member of the LDLR family and plays important roles in VLDL-triglyceride metabolism and the reelin signaling pathway. Mutations in this gene cause VLDLR-associated cerebellar hypoplasia. Alternative splicing generates multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms for this gene.
