Classification: |
Gene Fusion FISH Probes |
Description: |
The VAC14-HYDIN Gene Fusion FISH Probecan detect the fusion of VAC14 and HYDIN genes. Our product usually consists of a combination of reagents, which consists of a probe with a selected dye color and a hybridization reagent. We offer a variety of dye color combinations for FISH probes for gene fusions. This product has been verified in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads of normal peripheral blood. This is key quality control, you can trust our quality. |

Gene Details
Gene Name 1 |
HYDIN, Axonemal Central Pair Apparatus Protein |
Gene Summary 1 |
This gene encodes a protein that may be involved in cilia motility. Mutations in this gene cause of autosomal recessive primary ciliary dyskinesia-5, a disorder characterized by the accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid within the ventricles of the brain. A duplicate copy of this gene has been found in humans on chromosome 1. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2013] |
Chromosome 1 |
Chromosome 16 |
Locus 1 |
16q22.2 |
Coordinates 1 |
This gene maps to 70841288-71264569 in GRCh37 coordinates. |
Gene Name 2 |
Vac14, PIKFYVE Complex Component |
Gene Summary 2 |
This gene encodes a scaffold protein that is a component of the PIKfyve protein kinase complex. This complex is responsible for the synthesis of phosphatidylinositol 3,5-bisphosphate, an important component of cellular membranes, from phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate. Mice lacking a functional copy of this gene exhibit severe neurodegeneration. Mutations in the human gene have been identified in patients with a childhood onset progressive neurological disorder characterized by impaired movement, dystonia, and striatal abnormalities. [provided by RefSeq, May 2017] |
