Gene Details
Gene Name 1 |
Golgi Brefeldin A Resistant Guanine Nucleotide Exchange Factor 1 |
Gene Summary 1 |
This gene encodes a member of the Sec7 domain family. The encoded protein is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor that regulates the recruitment of proteins to membranes by mediating GDP to GTP exchange. The encoded protein is localized to the Golgi apparatus and plays a role in vesicular trafficking by activating ADP ribosylation factor 1. The encoded protein has also been identified as an important host factor for viral replication. Multiple transcript variants have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010] |

Chromosome 10 |
Locus 1 |
10q24.32 |
Coordinates 1 |
This gene maps to 104005254-104142656in GRCh37 coordinates. |
Gene Name 2 |
SUFU Negative Regulator Of Hedgehog Signaling |
Gene Summary 2 |
The Hedgehog signaling pathway plays an important role in early human development. The pathway is a signaling cascade that plays a role in pattern formation and cellular proliferation during development. This gene encodes a negative regulator of the hedgehog signaling pathway. Defects in this gene are a cause of medulloblastoma. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.[provided by RefSeq, May 2010] |
