Classification: |
Gene Fusion FISH Probes |
Description: |
The SCD5-STAP1 Gene Fusion FISH Probecan detect the fusion of SCD5 and STAP1 genes. Our product usually consists of a combination of reagents, which consists of a probe with a selected dye color and a hybridization reagent. We offer a variety of dye color combinations for FISH probes for gene fusions. This product has been verified in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads of normal peripheral blood. This is key quality control, you can trust our quality. |

Gene Details
Gene Name 1 |
Signal Transducing Adaptor Family Member 1 |
Gene Summary 1 |
The protein encoded by this gene contains a proline-rich region, a pleckstrin homology (PH) domain, and a region in the carboxy terminal half with similarity to the Src Homology 2 (SH2) domain. This protein is a substrate of tyrosine-protein kinase Tec, and its interaction with tyrosine-protein kinase Tec is phosphorylation-dependent. This protein is thought to participate in a positive feedback loop by upregulating the activity of tyrosine-protein kinase Tec. Variants of this gene have been associated with autosomal-dominant hypercholesterolemia (ADH), which is characterized by elevated low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels and in increased risk of coronary vascular disease. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2015] |

Gene Name 2 |
Stearoyl-CoA Desaturase 5 |
Gene Summary 2 |
Stearoyl-CoA desaturase (SCD; EC 1.14.99.5) is an integral membrane protein of the endoplasmic reticulum that catalyzes the formation of monounsaturated fatty acids from saturated fatty acids. SCD may be a key regulator of energy metabolism with a role in obesity and dislipidemia. Four SCD isoforms, Scd1 through Scd4, have been identified in mouse. In contrast, only 2 SCD isoforms, SCD1 (MIM 604031) and SCD5, have been identified in human. SCD1 shares about 85% amino acid identity with all 4 mouse SCD isoforms, as well as with rat Scd1 and Scd2. In contrast, SCD5 shares limited homology with the rodent SCDs and appears to be unique to primates (Wang et al., 2005 [PubMed 15907797]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008] |
