Classification: |
Gene Fusion FISH Probes |
Description: |
The RNF40-PLK1 Gene Fusion FISH Probecan detect the fusion of RNF40 and PLK1 genes. Our product usually consists of a combination of reagents, which consists of a probe with a selected dye color and a hybridization reagent. We offer a variety of dye color combinations for FISH probes for gene fusions. This product has been verified in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads of normal peripheral blood. This is key quality control, you can trust our quality. |

Gene Details
Gene Name 1 |
Polo Like Kinase 1 |
Gene Summary 1 |
The Ser/Thr protein kinase encoded by this gene belongs to the CDC5/Polo subfamily. It is highly expressed during mitosis and elevated levels are found in many different types of cancer. Depletion of this protein in cancer cells dramatically inhibited cell proliferation and induced apoptosis; hence, it is a target for cancer therapy. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015] |
Chromosome 1 |
Chromosome 16 |
Locus 1 |
16p12.2 |
Coordinates 1 |
This gene maps to 23690200-23701688 in GRCh37 coordinates. |
Gene Name 2 |
Ring Finger Protein 40 |
Gene Summary 2 |
The protein encoded by this gene contains a RING finger, a motif known to be involved in protein-protein and protein-DNA interactions. This protein was reported to interact with the tumor suppressor protein RB1. Studies of the rat counterpart suggested that this protein may function as an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase, and facilitate the ubiquitination and degradation of syntaxin 1, which is an essential component of the neurotransmitter release machinery. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2011] |
Chromosome 2 |
Chromosome16 |
Locus 2 |
