Gene Details
Gene Name 1 |
Cytochrome P450 Oxidoreductase |
Gene Summary 1 |
This gene encodes an endoplasmic reticulum membrane oxidoreductase with an FAD-binding domain and a flavodoxin-like domain. The protein binds two cofactors, FAD and FMN, which allow it to donate electrons directly from NADPH to all microsomal P450 enzymes. Mutations in this gene have been associated with various diseases, including apparent combined P450C17 and P450C21 deficiency, amenorrhea and disordered steroidogenesis, congenital adrenal hyperplasia and Antley-Bixler syndrome. Chromosome 7 |
Locus 1 |
7q11.23 |
Coordinates 1 |
This gene maps to 75544419-75616173 in GRCh37 coordinates. |
Gene Name 2 |
Progesterone Immunomodulatory Binding Factor 1 |
Gene Summary 2 |
This gene encodes a protein that is induced by the steroid hormone progesterone and plays a role in the maintenance of pregnancy. The encoded protein regulates multiple facets of the immune system to promote normal pregnancy including cytokine synthesis, natural killer (NK) cell activity, and arachidonic acid metabolism. Low serum levels of this protein have been associated with spontaneous pre-term labor in humans. This protein may promote the proliferation, migration and invasion of glioma.
