Gene Details
Gene Name 1 |
Protein Disulfide Isomerase Family A Member 6 |
Gene Summary 1 |
This gene encodes a member of the disulfide isomerase (PDI) family of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) proteins that catalyze protein folding and thiol-disulfide interchange reactions. The encoded protein has an N-terminal ER-signal sequence, two catalytically active thioredoxin (TRX) domains, a TRX-like domain, and a C-terminal ER-retention sequence. This protein inhibits the aggregation of misfolded proteins and exhibits both isomerase and chaperone activity. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2016] |

Chromosome 2 |
Locus 1 |
2p25.1 |
Coordinates 1 |
This gene maps to 10923516-10952960 in GRCh37 coordinates. |
Gene Name 2 |
Dickkopf WNT Signaling Pathway Inhibitor 3 |
Gene Summary 2 |
This gene encodes a protein that is a member of the dickkopf family. The secreted protein contains two cysteine rich regions and is involved in embryonic development through its interactions with the Wnt signaling pathway. The expression of this gene is decreased in a variety of cancer cell lines and it may function as a tumor suppressor gene. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding the same protein. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] |
