Classification: |
Gene Fusion FISH Probes |
Description: |
The NMT1-NME1-NME2 Gene Fusion FISH Probecan detect the fusion of NMT1 and NME1-NME2 genes. Our product usually consists of a combination of reagents, which consists of a probe with a selected dye color and a hybridization reagent. We offer a variety of dye color combinations for FISH probes for gene fusions. This product has been verified in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads of normal peripheral blood. This is key quality control, you can trust our quality. |

Gene Details
Gene Name 1 |
N-myristoyltransferase 1 |
Gene Summary 1 |
Myristate, a rare 14-carbon saturated fatty acid, is cotranslationally attached by an amide linkage to the N-terminal glycine residue of cellular and viral proteins with diverse functions. N-myristoyltransferase (NMT; EC 2.3.1.97) catalyzes the transfer of myristate from CoA to proteins. N-myristoylation appears to be irreversible and is required for full expression of the biologic activities of several N-myristoylated proteins, including the alpha subunit of the signal-transducing guanine nucleotide-binding protein (G protein) GO (GNAO1; MIM 139311) (Duronio et al., 1992 [PubMed 1570339]).[supplied by OMIM, Nov 2008] |

Chromosome 17 |
Locus 1 |
17q21.31 |
Coordinates 1 |
This gene maps to 43138679-43186382 in GRCh37 coordinates. |
Gene Name 2 |
NME1-NME2 Readthrough |
Gene Summary 2 |
This locus represents naturally occurring read-through transcription between the neighboring NME1 and NME2 genes. The significance of this read-through transcription and the function of the resulting protein product have not yet been determined. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2010] |
