Gene Details
Gene Name 1 |
Calcium Binding Tyrosine Phosphorylation Regulated |
Gene Summary 1 |
To reach fertilization competence, spermatozoa undergo a series of morphological and molecular maturational processes, termed capacitation, involving protein tyrosine phosphorylation and increased intracellular calcium. The protein encoded by this gene localizes to the principal piece of the sperm flagellum in association with the fibrous sheath and exhibits calcium-binding when phosphorylated during capacitation. A pseudogene on chromosome 3 has been identified for this gene. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct protein isoforms have been found for this gene. Chromosome 18 |
Locus 1 |
18q11.2 |
Coordinates 1 |
This gene maps to 21718954-21741564 in GRCh37 coordinates. |
Gene Name 2 |
Mindbomb E3 Ubiquitin Protein Ligase 1 |
Gene Summary 2 |
This gene encodes a protein containing multiple ankyrin repeats and RING finger domains that functions as an E3 ubiquitin ligase. The encoded protein positively regulates Notch signaling by ubiquitinating the Notch receptors, thereby facilitating their endocytosis. This protein may also promote the ubiquitination and degradation of death-associated protein kinase 1 (DAPK1). [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2013] |
