Catalog: | GFFP-ACP2/CD74-13808 |
Classification: | Gene Fusion FISH Probes |
Description: | The ACP2-CD74 Gene Fusion FISH Probe can detect the fusion of ACP2 and CD74 genes. Our product usually consists of a combination of reagents, which consists of a probe with a selected dye color and a hybridization reagent. We offer a variety of dye color combinations for FISH probes for gene fusions. This product has been verified in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads of normal peripheral blood. This is key quality control, you can trust our quality. |
Category: | Gene Fusion FISH Probes |
Application: | ACP2-CD74 Gene Fusion FISH Probe can be used for chromosomal diagnosis to determine gene fusion phenomena associated with diseases such as cancer. You can confirm this in "Associated Diseases" in the product information. This product has been verified in both interphase nuclei and metaphase spreads of normal peripheral blood. Gene Name 1 | Acid Phosphatase 2, Lysosomal |
Gene Summary 1 | The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the histidine acid phosphatase family, which hydrolyze orthophosphoric monoesters to alcohol and phosphate. This protein is localized to the lysosomal membrane, and is chemically and genetically distinct from the red cell acid phosphatase. Mice lacking this gene showed multiple defects, including bone structure alterations, lysosomal storage defects, and an increased tendency towards seizures. An enzymatically-inactive allele of this gene in mice showed severe growth retardation, hair-follicle abnormalities, and an ataxia-like phenotype. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. A C-terminally extended isoform is also predicted to be produced by the use of an alternative in-frame translation termination codon via a stop codon readthrough mechanism. Chromosome 1 | Chromosome 11 |
Locus 1 | 11p12-p11 |
Coordinates 1 | This gene maps to 47260852-47270457 in GRCh37 coordinates. |
Gene Name 2 | CD74 Molecule |
Gene Summary 2 | The protein encoded by this gene associates with class II major histocompatibility complex (MHC) and is an important chaperone that regulates antigen presentation for immune response. It also serves as cell surface receptor for the cytokine macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) which, when bound to the encoded protein, initiates survival pathways and cell proliferation. This protein also interacts with amyloid precursor protein (APP) and suppresses the production of amyloid beta (Abeta). Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011] |
